MATCHING GIFTS Did you know that a matching gift could double or triple your donation? Many corporations will match employee or retiree gifts. Obtain a Matching Gift Form from your human resources office and include it with your donation. Be sure to fill out and sign the donor section before sending in the form. Some companies have an on-line matching gift procedure.

GIFTS THAT KEEP GIVING If there is someone on your gift list who seems to have everything, consider gifting them with an honorarium to Charleston Habitat. By making a donation in someone's honor, you champion affordable housing in the cities of Charleston and North Charleston and complete gift shopping simultaneously. Each honorarium recipient receives a card acknowledging your gift. Such gifts are appropriate for numerous occasions including birthdays, baptisms, bar and bat mitzvahs, graduations, housewarmings, weddings, new babies and more.

BUILDERS CLUB A monthly or quarterly pledge can help keep us building all year round. We can automatically deduct your pledge from a credit card, or bill you on a periodic basis. IN-KIND DONATIONS If you are a part of a corporation that may be able to donate in-kind supplies (building materials, administrative services, computers, etc.), this type of donation is just as needed as monetary donations. Please call 843-722-7145 to donate.

ONE SQUARE FOOT AT A TIME It costs $54.16 per square foot for us to build a simple, decent, and affordable home using volunteer labor and donated materials. The average home size is 1,200 square feet, so we need each foot donated to allow us to partner and build a home with a family in need. For example, to sponsor an average-sized room of 10'x12' would take $6,500.

Join with your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and members of your faith community or civic group to donate the cost of one or more square feet of a CHFH home.

You can even sign your name to a square foot of the sub floor during construction. Your contribution will be a part of this house in many different ways. Not to mention your donation is tax deductible.
