For Homecoming 2008, College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff will unite with the Charleston community to build a Charleston Habitat for Humanity home in 2 weeks! The College of Charleston hopes to unite the campus, build school pride, connect with our community, and impact Charleston’s biggest community problem—affordable housing.
The two-week blitz build will take place February 2nd through February 16th, 2008. The house will be located on 352 North Nassau Street and will be home to Angie Nelson and her four children.

About the Nelson Family:
Angelita Lorraine Gantt Nelson was born and raised in Bronx, NY. She moved to Charleston, SC to live with her adopted mother. She is a single mother raising 2 boys and 2 girls ages ranging from 14 years old to 19 years old. The Nelson family attends Greater Beards Chapel AME Church. Angie's hobbies are meeting new people, working, singing, praise and volunteering. She is employed at MUSC in the Environmental Service Department where she is a teamleader. She has been employed with MUSC for 7 years.
Angie says, "A dream of mine has always been to own my home. Thanks to Charleston Habitat for Humanity and the College of Charleston, my dream will become a reality, I am so thankful and blessed. We can't wait to move into our home!"
