We are excited to have teamed up with the
For Homecoming 2008, College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff united with the Charleston community to build a Charleston Habitat for Humanity home in 2 weeks!
We want to send a special thanks to all the contractors, laborers and volunteers who came our and helped us build the Nelson Family Home. We could not have done it without you!
The two-week blitz build took place February 2nd through February 16th, 2008. The house is located on 352 North Nassau Street and will be home to Angie Nelson and her four children.
There are just a few more details to complete! The house should be ready for the Nelson Family to move in by the end of February.

About the Nelson Family:
Angelita Lorraine Gantt Nelson was born and raised in Bronx, NY. She moved to Charleston, SC to live with her adopted mother. She is a single mother raising 2 boys and 2 girls ages ranging from 14 years old to 19 years old. The Nelson family attends Greater Beards Chapel AME Church. Angie's hobbies are meeting new people, working, singing, praise and volunteering. She is employed at MUSC in the Environmental Service Department where she is a teamleader. She has been employed with MUSC for 7 years.
Angie says, "A dream of mine has always been to own my home. Thanks to Charleston Habitat for Humanity and the College of Charleston, my dream will become a reality, I am so thankful and blessed. We can't wait to move into our home!"
