Women Build 2017

You are invited to join Charleston Habitat for Humanity’s annual Women Build Week! For a week in May, women will take over our construction sites to help build homes, learn construction skills and become advocates of decent, affordable housing for all. Whether you’ve never swung a hammer or you’re a remodeling pro, Women Build provides an exciting opportunity for team-building and empowerment to the organizations and individuals who volunteer.

Women Build Week is a nationwide initiative developed in partnership with Lowe’s. This year, more than 17,000 women are expected to volunteer at 650 Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country.

We encourage YOU to be one of those volunteers!

For this special initiative, we are inviting ladies to join us on site for $25 per person, with the added benefit of lunch and a t-shirt. Grab your co-workers or friends and reserve a day for YOUR group!

Decent, affordable housing is a quality of life and basic human dignity issue facing families everywhere. The Women Build program of Habitat for Humanity International has one mission, and that is to empower women to take action against poverty housing conditions.

If you are interested in joining this initiative between May 6-19, please contact Nancy Lee at to find out how you can get involved with our Women Build program! Ready to sign up? Additional information may be found here: WB Packet_Spring 2017

Spring 2017 Collegiate Challenge

Every year during the months of March and April, hundreds of college students from across the country travel to South Carolina to help Charleston Habitat for Humanity build simple, decent, affordable homes for low-income families in need.  The volunteers are participants of Habitat for Humanity International’s Collegiate Challenge, which is one of the country’s largest alternative spring break programs and offers the opportunity for students to gain new skills, make new friends, and make a meaningful impact on the community.

For more information on Collegiate Challenge 2017, or to sign up, contact Jon Hull, Volunteer Manager, at (843) 722-7145 or

3rd Annual Builder Bash

SAVE THE DATE! You’re invited to join Charleston Habitat for Humanity for the 3rd Annual Builder Bash at The Cedar Room! On the evening of September 28th, 2017 volunteers, donors and advocates will gather to support building homes, communities and hope for families in need in the Charleston community. This exciting evening includes yummy beverages and bites, and multiple auctions. If you’re tired of the typical suit and tie, this event is for you. We encourage guests to think outside the box with “construction couture” attire! Let your creativity take over as you switch out your typical cocktail gear for something with a little more flair.  Event and table sponsorships are available by contacting Nancy Kuhne at
