    Lunch Sponsors

    Ideal for groups
We are looking for individuals, groups, and/or businesses to provide lunch for our volunteers on the construction site. Lunches are needed for 15-20 people on Saturdays and occasionally during the week as well.
This is an excellent way to be involved! You may come out to the work site and bring the lunch yourself, in order to see the work that is being done and to meet volunteers and construction staff or we will be happy to come and pick it up. Anything from pizza to peanut butter and jelly will be greatly appreciated.
For a list of recent lunch sponsors, click here.

Please contact the Director of Volunteer Services if you are interested in sponsoring lunch.

    Committees

Ideal for individuals seeking to gain professional experience while playing a big part in furthering Habitat's mission
Get involved at a deeper level and help us with more behind the scenes work by joining one of our committees. Most committees meet once a month for one hour. Our committees include the Building on Faith Committee, Construction Committee, Development and Fundraising Committee, Family Services Committee, ReStore Committee, and our Women Build Leadership Team. Please view our Committee page to learn more about them, or click here.

    Construction Volunteer Info:
    Ideal for individuals and groups

Age Requirements: All construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers who are 16 or 17 must have their parent/guardian's signature of consent on the Volunteer Waiver Form.

THURSDAY CREW is a group of volunteers that helps on our construction site every Thursday. Coming every week, they have developed many construction skills and are most helpful on more skilled tasks as well as leading new volunteer groups. Click here to read more about the Thursday Crew

Signing up as a group? Consider sponsoring a certain number of square feet of the construction costs of the home you will be helping build! The cost per square foot is $54.00 and we need your help! This is not required, but please consider this investment along with your volunteer project! Click here to view the Square Foot brochure.

    NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION:
A Habitat home in Charleston is on average three bedrooms and 1,200 square feet. From foundation to dedication, it takes 18 uninterrupted weeks, equaling 90 work days with approximately 15 volunteers working at time to complete one home. Construction experience is welcome but definitely not required. Ideal group sizes range from 10-20 people depending on the stage of construction. For more information on volunteering on the construction site including schedule, shifts, tasks, age limits, location, what to wear, what to bring, group sign-up and more, click here to view our Construction Volunteer FAQ

    Home Repair Construction:
The new home repair program has less consistent volunteer schedules. Ideal group sizes range from 5-10 on most projects. Most projects take an estimate 4-8 weeks to complete, and repair work includes everything from roof repair, to handicap ramps, to remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, weatherizing the home, installing new windows and doors, and more. Each project is unique. Check the VolunteerUP calendar for any current Home Repair projects.
