Build Like a Girl!
You are invited to join Charleston Habitat for Humanity’s annual Women Build Week! For a week in May, women will take over our construction sites to help build homes, learn construction skills and become advocates of decent, affordable housing for all. Whether you’ve never swung a hammer or you’re a remodeling pro, Women Build provides an exciting opportunity for team-building and empowerment to the organizations and individuals who volunteer.
Women Build Week is a nationwide initiative developed in partnership with Lowe’s. This year, more than 17,000 women are expected to volunteer at 650 Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country.
We encourage YOU to be one of those volunteers!
For this special initiative, we are inviting ladies to join us on site for $25 per person, with the added benefit of lunch and a t-shirt. Grab your co-workers or friends and reserve a day for YOUR group!
We are also extending a call to action to each group to challenge yourselves to raise money on your own. Each registered group can set a fundraising goal to strive toward between now and National Women Build Week. People can donate online using a credit card or by check, indicating the designated organization on the memo line. On May 9th, we will post all final totals on our website for each organization.
Decent, affordable housing is a quality of life and basic human dignity issue facing families everywhere. The Women Build program of Habitat for Humanity International has one mission, and that is to empower women to take action against poverty housing conditions.
If you are interested in joining this initiative between April 30th and May 7th, please contact Nancy Kuhne at email@example.com to find out how you can get involved with our Women Build program.
