Charleston Habitat is one of several recipients of the RHOF grant, a program established to assist in the development, maintenance, or repair of housing for those in need, through endowed fund and grant distributions to Lowcountry organizations committed to the development and rehabilitation of affordable housing. The $5,000.00 funds will be invested directly in the home construction program. Community organizations like the RHOF grant program are vital to the work of Charleston Habitat for Humanity. The grant award from RHOF allows us to continue the important work of providing affordable housing opportunities in the cities of Charleston and North Charleston. These funds will create a lifetime of impact for our partner family by giving them a hand up—not a handout—to home ownership.
RHOF was founded in 2003 to address the growing need for affordable and safe housing for Lowcountry residents in need. The Fund is administered by the Coastal Community Foundation. Since its inception, RHOF has provided nearly $700,000 in funding to Lowcountry nonprofits.[/vc_column_text][mk_image src="http://www.charlestonhabitat.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/CTAR-Logo-201211.jpg" image_width="603" image_height="208" crop="false" hover="false" target="_self" align="left" margin_bottom="10"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
